Tierra Armada Peru Provides Cost- and Time-Saving TechWall\u00ae Retaining Wall Solution for Busy Motorway into Arequipa<\/span><\/p><\/h1><\/div> In\u00a02016,\u00a0the\u00a0Vargas State\u00a0authorities launched a major project to construct a\u00a017-km seafront\u00a0in northern Venezuela, between the cities of\u00a0Punta de Mulatos\u00a0and\u00a0Macuto. Freyssinet \u2013 Tierra Armada de Venezuela<\/a>\u00a0was chosen to construct the walls of the works, using the Reinforced Earth\u00ae<\/a> retaining wall solution keeping with the project budgets, despite the difficult economic and social situations prevailing in the country. In total,\u00a014 walls\u00a0were constructed, extending along a total length of\u00a0900\u00a0meters, with an average height of\u00a04.48\u00a0meters and an area of\u00a04,500\u00a0m2.\u00a0HA 50 x 4 mm\u00a0galvanised flat bars are being used to reinforce the solid fa\u00e7ade and the facing is\u00a0TerraClass\u00ae\u00a0yellow stone-effect finish, with allegorical marine figures in bas-relief. For the construction of the walls, the Freyssinet \u2013 Tierra Armada de Venezuela teams have been able to combine their\u00a0experience\u00a0and knowledge with the guidelines and recommendations of the geotechnical engineer in charge of the Project, creating an\u00a0iconic work\u00a0that will promote the economic development of the State. Already known as the\u00a0Cinta Costera, the purpose of the esplanade is to create a seafront lined with\u00a0restaurants\u00a0and\u00a0infrastructures\u00a0that promotes\u00a0sporting,\u00a0recreational,\u00a0and\u00a0cultural activities.
