Located in the City of Toronto, the York-Bay-Yonge off-ramp to Lower Simcoe street reconstruction project is part of a large push to modernize the waterfront area and accommodate high volumes of traffic flow from the Gardiner Expressway into the downtown core.<\/p>\n
Built in the 1960’s, the old ramp has been referred to as the \u201cHot Wheels Ramp\u201d by the current Mayor of Toronto due to the number of loops present restricting the use below the ramp itself.<\/p>\n

RECo Canada was retained to design and supply a curved ramp consisting of 1.5 x 1.5m square shaped precast panels with a ‘fractured fin’ architectural finish. The walls had to be designed to accommodate the pump station inside the ramp. The construction was completed towards the end of 2017, with the ramp officially open to public use in late January of 2018.<\/p>\n<\/div>
